It's been a while since I last posted... mostly due to a lack of inspiration ideas! :)
It's been fairly uneventful here at the moment. Most days comprise of teaching and chores. Apart from starting uni in a little less than 2 weeks, there's nothing very different in the foreseeable future, at least for a while. (Not that I'm complaining mind you. =] ) So it's pretty quiet, which is nice because I'm getting more Bible reading and textbook previewing done.
I've been feeling somewhat better health-wise this week, for which I'm thankful. The funny thing about Lupus is that one can feel shocking one week, and perfectly fine the next, without much recollection of how one felt last week. And feel fine I do. I'm having some trouble with my hair again, but I seem to not feel as worried about it as I was last time.
I've been reading Proverbs lately. I thought I'd post some of the verses that caused me to 'ponder' this week.
“A scorner loveth not one that reproveth him: neither will he go unto the wise.” Proverbs 15:12
“Only by pride cometh contention: but with the well advised is wisdom.” Proverbs 13:10
“He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life: but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction.” Proverbs 13:3
“Lying lips are abomination to the LORD: but they that deal truly are his delight.” Proverbs 12:22
“He that is void of wisdom despiseth his neighbour: but a man of understanding holdeth his peace.” Proverbs 11:12
“He that hideth hatred with lying lips, and he that uttereth a slander, is a fool.” Proverbs 10:18
“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!” Psalms 133:1
These verses (and others like them) have been jumping out at me for a while now, since someone I know had a major disagreement recently. There was much lying and deceiving, and it was all so dumb. I suppose I’ve learnt a few things from it though, and I appreciate these verses much more than I did before.
“The heart of him that hath understanding seeketh knowledge: but the mouth of fools feedeth on foolishness.” Proverbs 15:14
I like this verse. It makes me to think that there it is a good thing to increase in knowledge (even by going to uni), provided the knowledge is in turn used for the glory of God. I like to think I am not wasting my time going to uni. ;)
“A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance: but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.” Proverbs 15:13
This is just a goooood verse. :D
So, what have you all been reading lately? =]
